Apart from reading, I think radio is the one that has impacted my education the most. By education, I do not mean the classroom education which streamlined you to one field of study but personal development which makes you robust for a wider spectrum.
Radio remains one of the most dependable and widely utilized forms of media in the world. Radio is brilliant, tune in!
I pay my homage to the likes of FRCN that used to play Fela’s ‘Ojo Monday Eko o ni gba igbakugba’ every Monday as I go to school, OGBC 2 FM (now simply OGBC FM) where I listen to Peter Okoduwa (I think he is late now) on Newspaper review for 15minutes, the proscribed Radio Kudirat which streamed into Nigeria from a then unknown source, and other stations, not many of them then but provided rich content, that I enjoyed as a child.
I salute the likes of Jimi Disu as he moved from station to station, Classic FM and its many favorite OAPs, Radio Lagos and others that provided indigenous content.
