Yesterday, I wrote ‘STAY IN THE RACE!’ Today, I’m saying, RUN YOUR OWN RACE O! Often, the most miserable people on earth are those wanting, and trying, to be like others. 2 Corinthians 10:12 says, “For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.” Are you wise? Run your own race! Don’t ever compare yourself, your life or experiences with others. GOD made us alike, but uniquely different too! And, He made us to fulfill different assignments and purposes. Find where you belong, and plug in!
I could have started a church some 27 years ago if I didn’t know what GOD had called me to do. In fact, one or two friends nudged me in that direction, but I knew that wasn’t what the Master wanted me to do. He’s loaded too much on the inside of me to wait for Sundays, and midweek services, to share His WORD. I don’t have to pastor a church to share GOD’S WORD. I do it daily, via my write-ups, and I love what I do, and do it passionately. Being a professor or PhD holder won’t make me any more fulfilled than I already am. When you know what you’re on earth to do, and you embrace it, only then can you, like Billy Graham, turn down political offices, including the opportunity/call to run for president.
“In fact, Billy Graham was pastor to presidents, for more than 50 years. He will go down in the annals of U.S. presidential politics as “the great legitimater,” according to one biographer. Over the years, beginning with President Harry Truman and extending through the presidency of George W. Bush (11 presidents), Graham served as pastor, preacher, chaplain and counselor. But most of all, Graham’s presence lent a legitimacy to presidents and their political policies, said William Martin, a professor of sociology at Rice University. Martin wrote a definitive biography of Graham that was published in 1991 — “Prophet with Honor: The Billy Graham Story.” – sourced online.
May GOD give NIGERIAN leaders many pastors (Prophets with Honor) like Billy Graham, in JESUS MIGHTY NAME.
Just run your own race, and run it with FOCUS, with all your heart and might. You will succeed if you copy not, compare not, and faint not. And, please, NOTE: We’re meditating ALL THE TIME, either on what the world says or what the devil says or what GOD says – 1 John 5:4. What’s it gonna be?!
Selah!
