In a bid to combat identity theft and other data-related crimes, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has directed the Nigeria Police National Cybercrime Centre to collaborate with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

TheMediaGood Newspaper gathered that this strategic partnership aims to leverage the expertise and resources of both agencies to effectively tackle cybercriminal activities and protect Nigerian citizens’ personal data.

The IGP has vowed to explore all available means to combat crimes and criminality in Nigeria, ensuring the safety and security of the nation’s digital space. This joint effort marks a significant milestone in the country’s fight against cyber threats and identity theft, demonstrating the police force’s commitment to staying ahead of emerging criminal trends.
