What I will do that will make God stonewall me, may I not do it. Please pray the same for yourself.
Moses was so close to the heart of God that he is the only human who is recorded to have seen the Lord physically, albeit His backside. He was so good in God’s eyes that he was reputed for his meekness. The Bible described him as Moses the man of God to emphasize his closeness to God.
But Moses was stonewalled by God on one ground, and that ground should perhaps be the biggest highlight of his life…to enter the Promised Land. Moses pleaded with God on several issues for his family, for Egypt, and the people, and God answered all. However, in the singular plea that he made for himself, God refused him. In fact God stonewalled him.
He prayed: “Let me go over and see the good land beyond the Jordan – that fine hill country and Lebanon. But because of you the Lord was angry with me and would not listen to me.” – Deuteronomy 3:25 NIV
And the Lord stonewalled him, “That is enough,” the Lord said. “Do not speak to me anymore about this matter.” – Deuteronomy 3:26 NIV
What did Moses do? The people he led faithfully got him into trouble with His Maker. In one fit of madness, He spoke harshly and God wouldn’t have it. Moses prayed and prayed on this matter, but no, God has closed that chapter. God ‘ghosted’ him to use the term of the Gen. Z’s.
I go back to my initial prayer. What I will do that will make God stonewall me, may I not do it. Please pray the same for yourself.
