HAVING THE RIGHT MIND, DOING THE RIGHT THINGS!

WE NEED A MINDSHIFT

Just look at the scandalous salaries of our senators, reps, ministers and other government appointees, and you’ll easily see why NIGERIA is largely unproductive and retrogressive. We have in leadership, unscrupulous men and women, who are comfortable with taking wages they didn’t (and still don’t) work for, other than the huge amount they committed to their fraudulent elections, and desperately, deviously, want to recoup. Such a group can NEVER lead the country to El Dorado.

On the contrary, when I joined our organization two years ago, like any sane fellow, I was rearing to go, to jump straight into running training programs, and really do great things. My MD, however, wanted me to focus more on settling in first, and to develop modalities for our training programs, monitoring and evaluation processes. So, I spent the greater part of the first 6 months doing that, and all the while thinking, “I/we can be doing much more than this, now!”
I felt I wasn’t ‘earning’ my salary.

When I expressed that thought to my MD, he said to me, “Mr Aina, I assure you that the time would come when you’ll have more than enough on your hands.” Truly, that’s beginning to happen now, with THREE (3) major training programs lined up for LAGOS, ABUJA and PORT HARCOURT, for Communication Managers, Public Relations Officers and Information Officers, pan NIGERIA; the schedule is truly mounting.

My point is: it is devilish and unscrupulous to be comfortable with taking wages you’ve not worked for. Unfortunately, that seems to be the ‘Yahoo-Yahoo’ mentality of many Nigerians now. WE NEED LEADERS, AND FOLLOWERS, AND ELITES, WHO HAVE THE RIGHT MINDSET, AND ARE DOING THE RIGHT THINGS, BEING GODLY EXAMPLES! This is what every pastor, imam and teacher, should be PREACHING/TEACHING in the churches, mosques and schools. Let the REVOLUTION begin with our MINDS, in our HOMES, SCHOOLS, and RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS.
SHALOM.
