I had a glimpse of how large the crowd of 5000 men (not counting women and children) that Jesus fed in the Bible could be when I walked into a dining hall sitting about 300 children and teens enjoying a wonderful camping experience in Ibadan, Nigeria. What an amazing experience it is!
Though this number is less than 10% of Jesus’s miracle, it still felt surreal for me as the children sat round and were making drumbeats out of the long, shining, metallic tables in the hall.
It was dejà vu for those who attended boarding schools, but for me it was a first perhaps after NYSC camp. It’s always a great feeling with children. God bless them.
