Governor of Osun State
The Governor of Osun State, Gov. Ademola Adeleke, has extended the olive branch to Bola Munirudeen Oyebamiji, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded 2026 Osun governorship election.
He also asked Oyebamiji and other candidates to put aside their differences and support his administration.
Adeleke, candidate of Accord Party, was declared winner of the election by the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday after polling 511,067 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 444,815 votes.
Speaking shortly after his re-election, Adeleke relayed that President Bola Tinubu put a congratulatory phone call across to him before the votes were tallied.
“I wish him great success as he prepares to lead the state for the next four years. Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election,” the President said.
