LSSTF Boosts RRS, LNSC, Lagos Taskforce with Operational Vehicle and 2,250 Raincoats

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has reinforced its commitment to strengthening frontline security operations with the presentation of one operational patrol vehicle and a total of 2,250 raincoats to three key security agencies in Lagos State. This comprises the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) and the Lagos State Taskforce.

The intervention, carried out on behalf of the Executive Secretary/CEO of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, reflects the Fund’s continued investment in improving the operational capacity, welfare and all-weather readiness of security personnel charged with protecting lives and property across the state. By equipping security operatives with essential operational resources, the LSSTF continues to strengthen Lagos’ reputation as Nigeria’s safest and most secure state.

Representing the Executive Secretary at the presentation ceremony, the Director of Administration, LSSTF, Mr. Adegbola Lewis, presented one operational patrol vehicle and 1,000 raincoats to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command. The items were received on behalf of the Commander, RRS, CSP Shola Jejeloye, by the Administrative Officer of the Squad, DSP Saka Ayodele. Also present were the Station Officer, ASP Oladele Ajayi, and the Commander’s Personal Assistant, Inspector Dan Idris.

The LSSTF also donated 1,000 raincoats to the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) to enhance the effectiveness of its officers in carrying out community-based surveillance and public safety operations during the rainy season. Receiving the items on behalf of the Corps was the Deputy Director, Operations and Monitoring, Mr. Ajao Lateef, alongside the Deputy Director of Operations, Mr. Nurudeen Rasak, and the Principal Finance and Accounts Officer, Mr. Ogunseyin Oluwole.

In addition, the Fund presented 250 raincoats to the Lagos State Taskforce, further supporting the agency’s enforcement and environmental security operations across the state. The items were received by the Taskforce Operations Officer, SP Adewale Adeyemi.

Speaking through his representative, Dr. Ogunsan reaffirmed the LSSTF’s resolve to provide sustained logistical support to security agencies, noting that effective security requires not only modern equipment but also the welfare and operational preparedness of personnel working on the frontlines.

The presentation forms part of the Fund’s broader strategy of complementing the Lagos State Government’s security agenda through strategic investments in mobility, protective gear, technology and capacity building.
