Uplifting Youth Through Agriculture (UYOTA) is partnering National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on drug prevention initiative. The prevention initiative is aimed at redirecting Nigerian youths from the streets into meaningful ventures that can uplift their lives and positively impact the society.

In a statement signed and made available to the media, by the founder of Uplifting Youth Through Agriculture, Princess Afoma Adigwe, she lauded NDLEA for accepting to partner with her organisation adding that such collaboration would not only educate youths on dangers of drug abuse but also promote drug–free environments in communities.

While describing agriculture as one of the most viable sectors for employment creation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development, Princess Adigwe added that her organisation aimed to engage youths in modern farming practices, agribusiness opportunities, vocational training, and mentorship programmes that would create jobs, reduce crime, and promote national development.

“As part of the launch of this initiative, we shall commence with a national roadshow campaign, beginning in Abuja, Lagos, and Delta State, before expanding nationwide.

“This campaign would focus on sensitisation, youth engagement, anti-drug abuse awareness, and showcasing opportunities in agriculture and entrepreneurship”, she added.
