Easter: CP Sanusi Deploys 1803 Officers, Operational Assets for Security in the FCT

In a strategic move to safeguard lives and properties during the Easter celebration, the Commissioner of Police in the FCT, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi has ordered the deployment of 1,803 personnel, alongside other operational assets to all churches and recreational centres across the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

This proactive measure is designed to reinforce existing policing efforts and ensure the safety of worshippers and residents throughout the Easter festive period, the press release of the FCT PPRO, SP Josephine Adeh indicated.

The deployment includes enhanced visibility policing, intelligence-led operations, coordinated vehicular and foot patrols, and continuous monitoring aimed at the prompt detection and prevention of criminal activities. In addition, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Units have been tasked with conducting routine sweeps of major public and recreational locations to mitigate potential security threats.

The press statement added: ‘The Commissioner of Police for the FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi while felicitating with Christian faithful across the Territory, urged residents to embrace the spirit of Easter by promoting peace, unity, and mutual respect. He called on all residents to remain law-abiding and encouraged religious leaders to continue preaching messages of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.’

‘The Commissioner further reassures residents of the Command’s firm commitment to the protection of lives and property before, during, and after the celebrations. He also appeals for sustained cooperation with the Police and other security agencies to ensure a hitch-free festive period.’
