The AIG in charge of the Force CID Annex, Lagos AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom has delivered his maiden lecture to officers and men of the Department, emphasising professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties, the press release of the FCID Annex PRO, ASP Aminat Mayegun revealed.

During the lecture, the AIG stressed the importance of people-centric policing and urged officers to align themselves with the mission and vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji R. Disu, which prioritises professionalism, accountability, and strengthened partnership with members of the public.

The AIG also announced plans to commence a series of capacity-building training programmes for officers of the Department aimed at improving investigative competence, professionalism, and service delivery in line with modern policing standards.

In recognition of diligence and dedication to duty, the AIG further disclosed that deserving officers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and outstanding performance would be recognised, commended, and rewarded accordingly.

Speaking on professional conduct, the AIG warned officers to respect the fundamental rights and dignity of all citizens in accordance with the provisions of the Anti Torture Act 2017, and Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015, as domesticated in the relevant States, stressing that no form of torture, intimidation, or inhumane treatment of suspects will be condoned under any circumstance.

He also reminded officers of the upcoming public holidays on Friday and Monday to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday, and urged them to remain vigilant, disciplined, and professional while discharging their duties to ensure the safety and security of the office and its environs.

The AIG reaffirmed the commitment of the FCID Annex to upholding justice, protecting human rights, and strengthening public trust in the Nigeria Police Force.
