The Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu today 1st of January attended New Year service at the State House Chapel in Marina. In the same vein, he joined Muslim faithfuls at the State House mosque to welcome the year with hope, prayers, and faith in God.

The Governor noted: ‘We prayed for our President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and I encouraged Nigerians to continue supporting him as he takes difficult but necessary steps to address our nation’s social and economic challenges. As we begin this year, my prayer is simple, that God will guide us all and that our state and our country will continue to rise.’

‘Lagos will keep moving forward. I am confident that it shall be well with every resident, and I believe 2026 will be a truly glorious year for our state,’ he assured.

‘I am grateful to everyone who joined us and for the messages we received. Dr Bukola Oluwagbemiga reminded us to rely on God at all times and encouraged us to create room for God to work through us. At the Muslim prayers, Dr Abdullahi Jebe spoke about the need to avoid hypocrisy and to work together with one heart,’ he thanked those who were present at both prayer sessions

On his tenure gradually rounding up, Sanwo-Olu indicated ‘I am mindful that time is precious. I have only one more January 1 in office. No position lasts forever, and that reality keeps me grounded. Still, whatever challenges lie ahead, we will not give up. I believe Nigeria will be greater.’
