The 1952 Africa Foundation has launched an art competition to define the future of Africa using the Year 2100 as benchmark. This competition is in honor of late Chizi Wigwe, son of late Herbert Wigwe, who passed with his father and mother in the ill-fated crash of February 2024.

TheMediaGood Newspaper reports that the competition worth a US$15000 prize for the winner will be conducted in partnership with the HOW Foundation.
The organizers announced that the Chizi Wigwe Prize for African futurism ‘is open to all mediums including but not limited to painting and sculpture, photography, filmmaking and performance art, digital art and design installation.’
The details on how to participate are on the website – www.1952africa.art. Entries close on 30th April 2025.
