The Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, has disclosed that the Fund successfully raised ₦38 million through retail donations from 240 individual contributors.

He made the revelation during the 19th Lagos State Security Trust Fund LSSTF Annual Town Hall Meeting on Security with the Governor today Thursday 11th December, describing the development as a strong testament to growing public confidence in the state’s security initiatives.

Dr. Ogunsan explained that the retail donation scheme was introduced to give everyday Lagosians an opportunity to directly support the security architecture of the state, regardless of income level. He noted that the impressive turnout of individual donors reflects a deepening understanding that security is a collective responsibility.

According to him, ‘these contributions some as modest as N500, N1000, N5000, N10,000 and so on are deeply meaningful. For me, it’s less about the amount and more about the commitment shown by people who may not have much but are willing to give what they can for the collective good. We are truly encouraged by this achievement and we intend to replicate and expand this effort on a much larger scale.’

Ogunsan urged more residents to participate in the scheme, stressing that even small contributions can make a significant impact when combined.

He reaffirmed LSSTF’s commitment to transparency and accountability, assuring Lagosians that every donation, whether big or small, will be fully dedicated to making the state safer for all.
